St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is searching for a new, permanent, full-time Rector. Our former Rector, The Rev. Dr. JoAnn Kennedy Slater, retired in June 2022 after 21 years at St. Luke’s, and we thank her for her many years of devoted service.
We have been prayerfully preparing for our next Rector, and are excited to begin a new journey with them.
Here is our Parish Profile, which provides a snapshot of who we are and who we think we are looking for, giving room for the Spirit to do what we cannot do.
A faithful community committed to following the path of Jesus Christ in service to others.
Excited for new leadership, and the changes that will come with it.
Eager to help lead in established and new ways.
People with a deep and abiding love for the congregation.
Passionate about social justice and equity.
Yearning to be good neighbors to the Ypsilanti community as we live out our faith in service to others.
A broad church with individuals from all walks of life who are strengthened and inspired by the compelling worship service at St. Luke’s.
We are looking for:
A joyful leader who will continue our tradition of meaningful and inclusive worship which strengthens us to do good in the world.
A caring individual who will support our efforts in social justice and equity.
Someone to join in our heartfelt rallying cry: All Are Welcome!
A compassionate person ready to provide pastoral care, while empowering the congregation to do the same.
An individual who wants to collaborate with members of the congregation as well as the community.
A creative individual with innovative ideas.
Someone who combines a Biblical, historical perspective with human-focused storytelling in sermons.
